Its abilities are wide ranging and comprehensive, it has a simply staggering amount of features and effects. It has a full-sized keyboard, many physical controls, and is suitable for advanced players and professionals.

The Forte has 16GB of sounds, many newly developed, all of great quality. New voices include, hand-picked German and Japanese vintage concert grand pianos, Rhodes EP, Wurlitzer, Clav, Harpsichord, Orchestral Percussion, Celeste, Glockenspiel, Chimes, Bells and Crotales along with a wide selection of sounds from the acclaimed PC3 series and its KORE 64™ expansion pack.

The Flash Play features gives the user the ability to instantaneously load any sound or sample that they want with zero loading time, assisting seamless performance.

The Mara sound chips make the sound-engine one of the best in the business and there is one devoted entirely to the KB3 organ mode for superb sonic capabilities. The polyphony is 128 but it also has dynamic selection when there are more than 128 notes sounded, dropping out the ones least likely to be heard.

The fully weighted, hammer action Fatar TP/40L keyboard, with velocity and aftertouch sensitive keys is just the beginning of the Forte’s technical excellence.

For the musical wizard, whether on-stage or creating new music there are 24 physical controllers including pitch and modulation wheels, 9 front panel sliders (w/ LED ladders), and 13 switches (assignable/zone mutes/KB3 control/variation/tap tempo/transpose).

There is a front panel master compressor and 3-band EQ for quick changes based on the acoustics of the setting. Amongst the huge amount of effects present on the Forte are reverbs, delays, choruses, flangers, phasers, distortions, rotary amplifiers, and compressors.

The Split and Layer modes are sophisticated and adept at allowing the user to switch between and put together several different programs for dazzling effect. With 10 assignable Favourite buttons the user can store their preferred sound-worlds for quick access.

To make control of the Forte even easier it is topped by a 4.3” colour LCD screen to give unprecedented visual recognition of sounds, effects, programs, and multis.

To delve deeper into music production there is a free downloadable software editor available from Kurzweil themselves to which the Forte can be easily connected.

Its connections are also many and various. There is MIDI In/Out/Thru for sequencing capabilities. USB A and B connections, these are respectively flash drive and straight to computer connections, so file transfers and software updates are easily handled. There is also MIDI over USB control so priorities can always be set by the user.

For external speakers, PA systems, and digital music players there are the AUX ports, 4 ¼” Input ports and 1 ⅛” Output port.
